Macy’s announced plans to shutter 150 stores over three years and 50 by the end of 2024 following a fourth-quarter loss and declining sales.

As part of the retailer’s goal to expand its supply chain network, Macy’s is utilizing the space within 35 of its stores to handle shipments as the holiday season approaches.

While many of the retailer’s main competitors deal with a near-crippling inventory glut, Macy’s has taken a different approach to its inventory management strategy.
