Hours-of-service lawsuit reaches the D.C. Circuit

The FMCSA’s adjustment to its 30-minute rest break rule conflicts with two safety issues that are caused by the previous regulation, according to the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association attorney. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters along with a handful of other safety groups asserts that the modification to short-haul movements and the 30-minute break adversely affect safety for truckers and that they were made hastily and without basis.
The CTA points out that more than 70,000 drivers in the state will be sidelined by AB5, causing a huge strain on the already feathered supply chain issue in the state.
